Description
Get back to basics with this throwback design.
Initially inspired by standard stationer’s supplies, Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown’s Notebook design evolved “to look more like the black-and-white blobs on the covers of composition notebooks that American children use in school.” The artists' skillful manipulation of the effects of scale, rhythm, color, and association make it an extremely versatile and popular product design.
Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, in collaboration with The Fabric Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia.

Meet the Artists
![A portrait of a man and woman posing for the camera. The woman is wearing a faintly colored patterned dress with a color and sleeves to her elbows. She is seated with hands folded on her lap. The man, who is standing behind her with arms outstretched to rest his hands on a set of chairs on each side of them, is wearing a long sleeve blue dress shirt and a black tie. Behind them is a wall of painted pop designs that suggest furniture.](https://cdn.sanity.io/images/o80jydf0/production/e84a5164a8032c283fc15fdb3b670b3d875a3798-1200x1200.jpg?auto=format&fit=max&q=75&w=600)
