About the Artists

Artists-in-Residence Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown, along with their longtime associate, Steve Izenour—a principal with Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates—have collaborated many times with The Fabric Workshop and Museum. First producing fabric designs with the FWM Studio in the early 1980s, they returned in 1993 to design a floor plan for FWM’s home at 1315 Cherry Street. When the Workshop moved yet again to its current location at 1214 Arch Street, VSBA signed on to envision this playful façade concept that creates a museum temple from a storefront—a befitting pop gesture.
